2008 Allstate VHSL Football Championships AAA - Division 5 & 6
To Air Live on COX 11 December 6th
Live from Lane Stadium - Saturday December 6th
HAMPTON ROADS, VA - Cox Hampton Roads will provide the region with the opportunity to watch the 2008 Virginia High School League (VHSL) Football Championships. Produced by Cox 11, the games will be seen by viewers across the state and throughout the Southeastern US through Cox Sports TV.
Coverage of the AAA Championships begins Saturday December 6th at noon with the Division 5 final featuring the Phoebus Phantoms from Hampton taking on the Dinwiddie Generals, from the Central Region.
The broadcast team for the state championship games is headed up by longtime broadcaster John Castleberry, who is back for his second run doing the play by play for the title games. He will be joined by Ray Tate in the booth, who will handle the color commentary for both games. Tate is a former football player for the Richmond Spiders and is a member of the Spiders Athletic Hall of Fame.
Handling the sideline analysis and reporting will be Andy Hayes. Hayes is the owner of the Gameday Radio Network and the state's leading sports multimedia website GamedayMagazine.com, which broadcasts over 300 high school athletic events in the state of Virginia during the school year. Hayes will interview the coaches and special guests, and provide analysis on the sideline during both championship contests.
Live coverage of the Division 5 state championship game begins at 12:00pm from Blacksburg, and the Division 6 state championship game will follow with coverage starting at 4pm.
The 2008 Allstate / VHSL State Football Championships will be seen on a network of channels across the state and through Cox Sports TV in markets in Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, & Texas.
