Editorial Calendar

HOW WE CHOOSE WHAT TO WRITE ABOUT AND WHEN:
Because Gameday Magazine is a year round publication, we cover every sport in high school athletics. Our goal each year is to provide the best coverage in the marketplace, but also help bring attention to the various sports that may not be the most popular. Our Editorial Calendar provides coverage to all sports, but our approach is to feature them on the cover while their seasons are under way.

AUGUST: (FOOTBALL PREVIEW COVER)
This 44 page Gameday Magazine football preview is a one of a kind publication in the state of Virginia. In-depth previews on the Gameday Power Poll Top 10 Teams, and run-downs on each District in our coverage market provides the local football fan with every ounce of information they need to prepare for the football season.

SEPTEMBER: (GOLF COVER)
The High School golf season starts in early August, so by September's printing of Gameday Magazine the golf season is the furthest along. We take a look at the best in the region and write about those who are scoring low on the links.

OCTOBER: (VOLLEYBALL COVER)
Volleyball is a rapidly growing sport in our region and in the previous 3 years, we have featured state champions in Gameday Magazine. The best Volleyball teams and players in the region are all candidates in October to grace the cover.

NOVEMBER: (FOOTBALL COVER)
With the final weeks of the regular season coming to a close in November, this issue is centered around the playoff races and the top players from the current season.

DECEMBER: (BASKETBALL POWER POLL COVER)
The Hoops Season begins in December and Gameday Magazine gets the local sports fan ready with a Preview Edition for our area's top 10 teams.

JANUARY: (ALL GAMEDAY TEAM COVER)
The All Gameday Team is selected at the end of the football season and featured in the January Edition of Gameday Magazine. This issue is one of the most popular during the calendar year.

FEBRUARY: (BASKETBALL, WRESTLING, OR SWIMMING COVER)
With winter sports in full swing, this issue of Gameday Magazine features Basketball, Wrestling, or Swimming on the cover.

MARCH: (SOFTBALL COVER)
Spring Sports start in March and we pick the best softball team or players to feature on the cover as we look give a sneak peek at how they will fare in the upcoming spring season.....

APRIL: (BASEBALL POWER POLL COVER)
Gameday Magazine's premiere spring issue features the top 10 baseball teams as they begin their seasons.

MAY: (LACROSSE, SOCCER, TRACK COVER)
As the spring season nears the District Tournaments, the May issue features the top athletes from either Lacrosse, Soccer, or Track on the cover.

JUNE: (PROGRAM OF THE YEAR COVER)
Gameday Magazine's June edition features the Athletic Program Of The Year on the cover. This honor is given to the school that showcases the most success throughout the 3 sport seasons in the school year.

JULY: (THE CHAMPIONS EDITION)
Gameday Magazine's July edition features articles on the teams that won state championships in the spring and also the best photos from the school year from the various Gameday Magazine Photographers.....
