Power Poll (12/20-12/27)
(Previous Weeks Rankings in Parenthesis

Public Power Poll:
1. Springbrook 5-0 (1)- Had their closest game of the season in last week's 53-45 win over Churchill. But that shouldn't cause any concern
2. Magruder 5-0 (2)- Magruder has been absolutely dominant so far but they have Springbrook in their next game so we'll see just how good this team is.
3. Gaithersburg 3-1 (3)- Surprising loss to Clarksburg was followed up by a tough one-point win at Quince Orchard so they'll stay here.
4. Whitman 4-2 (4)- The Vikings have really spread out there scoring and only have one player, Daniel Voigt, averaging over 10 ppg. An eye-opening loss to Walter Johnson may cause some concerns.
5. Paint Branch 4-2 (NR)- Paint Branch makes the biggest jump in the poll after winning 4 straight games.
6. Quince Orchard 4-1 (5)- The Cougars put together a pretty impressive effort against Gaithersburg considering two key players, leading scorer Myck Miller (wrist injury) and Alex Twine (Crab Bowl) couldn't play in this one. But the one-point loss drops them a spot
7. Sherwood 5-0 (NR)- Sherwood has beat up on some of the lesser-talented teams to get to 5-0 but deserve a lot of credit. Some tough tests await with Gaithersburg and Paint Branch lurking in their next 2 games. Scott Bolen is one of the county's leading scorers, averaging 21.0 ppg.
8. Wheaton 4-1 (6)- Their only hiccup so far is last week's loss to Paint Branch. Wheaton has 3 guys averaging double figures.
9. Churchill 3-2 (NR)- Churchill has battled major injuries to get off to a good start. They have played the county's top two teams, Magruder and Springbrook, as good as anybody.
10. Poolesville 3-2 (7)- Poolesville rebounded from a blowout loss to Magruder with a solid over Rockville, which was just enough to keep them in the top 10.

Private Schools
1. DeMatha 6-0 (1)- The Stags continue to roll and now are the only remaining undefeated team in the WCAC. Jarius Lyles, Mikael Hopkins, Marcellous Bell, and Jerami Grant are all averaging double figures in scoring .
2. Montrose 7-0 (2)- Montrose just played their closest game of the year against Council Rock North. They won by 15. Enough said.
3. Gonzaga 6-1 (3)- Gonzaga seems to have completely rebounded from the early season loss to Carroll. They've now won 4 straight.
4. Landon 6-2 (5)- Landon has really gotten rolling since the buzzer beater loss to St. Johns. Joe McDonald is averaging 18.6 ppg and could be a front-runner for IAC player of the year
5. Bullis 7-2 (4)- Two tough one-point losses to Spalding and Carroll drops Bullis a spot but with the talent this team possesses they can't drop out of the top 5
