Sherwood remains on top of the public school standings, while Good Counsel emerges for the second time this season back on top of the private rankings. Games last weekend have shaken up the order of the top 5 once again as we start to learn more about each team. Only one new team has broken into the top 10 publics and a WJ team has fallen out after two straight weeks at number 10.

The private school top 5 ranks the private schools only in Montgomery County, Washington D.C., and Prince Georges County.

Private:
1. Good Counsel (Olney, MD) - (2-1) Back at number one, the Falcon's did just fine with Stephon Diggs at running back, but will need Wes Brown and Diggs to hold on to the top spot for the year.
Next Up: Home - O'Connell 7pm Friday

2. Dematha (Hyattsville, MD) - (2-1) Tough loss to the Darius Jennings Greyhounds...err the Gilman Greyhounds I mean. The Stags will hope to have Delonte Morton back healthy in the backfield going forward.
Next Up: Home - Paul IV 7pm Friday

3. Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) - (2-1) Kevin Hogan and the offense spread it out against Prep and solidified their spot just behind the two top programs in the area.
Next Up: @McNamara 2pm Saturday

4. St. Albans (Washington, D.C.) - (2-0) The Bulldogs have outscored their two opponents by a combined 65-19 so far this season. Watch out St. Mary's.
Next Up: Home - St. Mary's Ryken 1:30pm Saturday

5. Georgetown Prep (Bethesda, MD) - (2-1) Prep falls one spot after the loss to Gonzaga and things don't get easier for the Hoyas this week, playing a Gilman team that has already beaten both Dematha and Good Counsel.
Next Up: @Gilman 1pm Friday

The Public School rankings are for Montgomery County only:

Public:
1. Sherwood (Olney, MD) - (3-0) Fourth consecutive week for the Warriors at number one.
Next Up: @Magruder 6:30pm Friday

2. Damascus (Damascus, MD) - (3-0) With another tough matchup this week the Hornets have an opportunity to make an argument for the top spot.
Next Up: Home - Seneca Valley 6:30pm Friday

3. Seneca Valley (Germantown, MD) - (3-0) First major test for the Screamin' Eagles will be on the road. Highest ranking of the year this week will see a further climb with win on Friday.
Next Up: @Damascus 6:30pm Friday

4. Quince Orchard (Gaithersburg, MD) - (2-1) Sophomore Marcus Newby announced his presence to the rest of Montgomery County in a strong bounce back victory against Whitman.
Next Up: @Northwest 6:30pm Friday

5. Whitman (Bethesda, MD) - (2-1) Not quite enough in a rainy road loss at Quince Orchard, the Vikings will face an undefeated hungry B-CC team that should make for an exciting homecoming.
Next Up: Home - B-CC 6:30pm Friday

6. Gaithersburg (Gaithersburg, MD) - (3-0) An extremely impressive win against a Clarksburg team that took Seneca to overtime in game one. The Trojans are more than on the radar and could make an even larger jump in the weeks to come.
Next Up: @Walter Johnson 6:30pm Friday

7. Springbrook (Silver Spring, MD) - (3-0) Devon Pestano racked up huge stats once again and the rest of the Devil's showed their stuff as well, so the drop from number six this week is completely about the other teams ahead and no slight.
Next Up: Home - Blair 6:30pm Friday

8. B-CC (Bethesda, MD) - (3-0) A suprising start in the minds of many, the Baron's only need to win on the other side of Bethesda this Friday to shoot up the rankings. Third straight week for B-CC in the top 10.
Next Up: @Whitman 6:30pm Friday

9. Watkins Mill (Gaithersburg, MD) - (3-0) A deep backfield has led the Wolverine's to an undefeated start and their first appearance in the rankings for the season. Biggest challenge so far will come Friday night.
Next Up: Home - Clarksburg 6:30pm

10. Clarksburg (Clarksburg, MD) - (1-2) Very hard schedule to start the season will not get easier against an undefeated Watkins Mill team Friday. The Coyote's will look to get back to .500 and hold a spot in next week's top 10.
Next Up: @Watkins Mill 6:30pm Friday
