STEPHENS CITY, VA - There's no greater "must see" game in the opening week of 2010 than this one! The Park View-Sherando game is turning into quite a rivalry game, dating back to the 38-0 drubbing the Patriots took in the Region II-Division 4 tournament final, in 2007 at Arrowhead Stadium. I know that these two teams don't have much of a history, but since that fateful night, the Park View faithful still harbor ill-will towards their Winchester-area foes, and are still looking for a manner of revenge. Last season, the Warriors traveled to Sterling, on a rain-soaked night, and snatched that opportunity away from the Patriots, on a last second 43-yard field goal from Justin Haines, and the vision of the jubilation from the Warriors - on Park View's home turf - still burns hot in the player's hearts and minds that are back in 2010, and who are making the trip to Stephens City this year. Don't think for one second that these Patriots won't be working hard to return the favor, at midfield of Arrowhead Stadium!

But the row will be tough to hoe for the Sterling team. Gone are 11 starters from 2009's playoff team (offensively and defensively), including "All Everything" player Brandon Lee. The Patriots also are learning new systems and schemes from new head coach, Ferris Eways. But a corps of returners, led by Division 1 prospect Eric Palma (LB), Ben Pick (WR\S), and Kyle Jeffries (DE\OL) should help the transition to be a smooth one, and keep the hopes high of returning to the playoffs.
