Poquoson Blanks Fort Defiance 10-0

RADFORD, VA - Taylor McConnell's 4-for-4 performance led Poquoson to a 10-0 shutout of Fort Defiance in the AA Baseball State Semifinals at Calfee Park as part of the 2010 Spring Jubilee.

Along with McConnell's impressive effort at the plate, the Islanders' Adam Posey tossed a compete game, allowing just three hits, while striking out three.

Poquoson, which pounded out 14 hits, guns for its second-straight state title when it takes on Potomac Falls tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. on the campus of Radford University.

Chad Pinder, Chad Funkhouser and Dylan Hill also recorded multiple hits for the Islanders.
