Woodgrove Names Scott Fortney as School's First Wrestling Coach

Purcellville, VA--Tonight at the Loudoun County Public School's board meeting, Mr. Scott Fortney was approved as the first Wrestling Coach at Woodgrove High School. Mr. Fortney comes to Woodgrove with 15 years (Jefferson High School-WV, Charlestown Jr. High-WV and Park View High School) of wrestling coaching experience and 7 additional years (Jefferson, Park View and Loudoun Valley) of volunteer coaching experience. Mr. Fortney believes the Woodgrove Wrestling Program will allow individuals to learn how to be disciplined, become responsible and understand hard work. His vision includes building an environment in which the team members, the school and the community can take pride through positive relationships, work ethic and communication. Mr. Fortney currently serves as a Biology teacher at Loudoun Valley High School. Woodgrove Names Kevin Copley as School's First Girl's Basketball Coach

Purcellville, VA--Tonight at the Loudoun County Public School's board meeting, Mr. Kevin Copley was approved as the first Head Girl's Basketball Coach at Woodgrove High School. Mr. Copley comes to Woodgrove with 9 years of high school coaching experience in football (James Wood, Millbrook, Loudoun Valley), boy's basketball (James Wood) and girl's and boy's track (Millbrook), along with 4 years of college football coaching experience at Fairmont State University and Shenandoah University. Mr. Copley believes that winning is a by-product of all the little things that "we" will do before, during and after the season resulting in building champions not only in the classroom but on the court. Mr. Copley spent three years as a high school assistant principal at Millbrook High School and most recently serves as a Technology Education teacher at both Stone Bridge High School and Heritage High School. Next year Mr. Copley will be at Woodgrove High School as a Technology Education teacher. Woodgrove Names Krystle Jacobs as School's First Gymnastics Coach

Purcellville, VA--Tonight at the Loudoun County Public School's board meeting, Ms. Krystle Jacobs was approved as the first Gymnastics Coach at Woodgrove High School. Ms. Jacobs, a native and resident of Western Loudoun, participated for the Loudoun Valley Vikings from 2000-2003 while competing at the 2002 and 2003 state meet. Ms. Jacobs has had the fortunate opportunity to compete and work with two of the top coaches in the field of gymnastics, Mrs. Jennifer Cooper-Barlow, head coach at Loudoun Valley High School, and Mrs. Jenny Aubel, head coach at Heritage High School. Ms. Jacobs currently serves as a teacher's assistant and assistant coach at Heritage High School. Woodgrove Names Stephen Douglas as School's First Boy's Basketball Coach

Purcellville, VA--Tonight at the Loudoun County Public School's board meeting, Mr. Stephen Douglas was approved as the first Head Boy's Basketball Coach at Woodgrove High School. Mr. Douglas comes to Woodgrove with 14 years of high school basketball experience and one year of college experience at Fairmont State College. Mr. Douglas's head coaching experience includes: (5yrs.) Tucker County, WV-Girl's Basketball and (3yrs.) Dominion, Loudoun-Boy's Basketball. Mr. Douglas's playing experience included playing collegiately at Chowan College and Fairmont State College both of which he was named Team Captain. Mr. Douglas has the unique experience in playing in three state tournaments as a high school athlete and as a head coach at Tucker County High School and Dominion High School. Son of former and long time Loudoun Valley Boy's Basketball Coach, Scott Douglas, and native of Western Loudoun, Mr. Douglas believes in "Focusing on the Future" by building strong foundations for success at Woodgrove. He believes preparation is the key to success, by making a commitment to an off-season program. Mr. Douglas currently teaches Physical Education at River Bend Middle School.
