Williamson Earns 100th Win as Coyotes Win
CLARKSBURG, MD - On their senior night, the Clarksburg Coyote wrestling team improves to 11-1 with an exciting win over the Northwest Jaguars. The dual meet started at 189 lbs, and the teams split the first four matches. Clarksburg won the next three matches, including a technical fall recorded by Mac Raum, currently ranked #2 in the county, at 112 lbs.
At 125 pounds, Page Sevilla recorded a win for Northwest as he defeated Mykal Watt. The next two matches belonged to Clarksburg, as Roja Stephenson and Chris Williamson (both ranked #3 in the county) defeated Tom Birch and Adam Dooly, at 130 lbs and 135 lbs, respectively.
Williamson's win was the 100th win of his career.
Malcolm Hall for the Jaguars defeated Roshon Williams at 140 lbs. One of the most exciting matches of the night came at 145 lbs. Jared Weaver of Clarksburg began the match losing 3-1 to DeAndre Lefeged, however was able to turn Lefeged to his back for three back points with only 10 seconds left, and took the match, 4-3.
The teams split the next two matches when Jon Ko of Clarksburg pinned himself against Victor Calderon at 152 lbs. At 160 lbs, Lesley Blankenship managed to do the same thing as he pinned himself against the Coyotes' Justin Cox.
Northwest won the final matchup of the night as Tyler Gasaway defeated Kevin Campos at 171 lbs.
Clarksburg finishes the season on Saturday as it battles Einstein and Rockville in a tri meet. Northwest, who falls to 8-5 overall, finishes the regular season this Saturday with a match against Churchill at Northwest.
