Wildcats Roll Over Robinson 66-45

CLIFTON, VA - In Friday night's battle between two Concorde District foes, the Centreville Wildcats handily defeated the Robinson Rams 66-45, to stay on pace near the top of the district standings. Both teams started out fast, and the score was tied at 15 at the end of the 1st quarter.
Centreville dominated the 2nd quarter, however, outscoring the Rams by 16, and took the lead, 39-23 at halftime. A lead they would not relinquish throughout the remainder of the contest. At the intermission, Centreville collected 19 rebounds to go along with their seven steals and five assists. Mike Rice led the Rams in scoring with 19 points, while CJ Cleaves followed with 10.
Junior Cameron Owens added 12 rebounds to his game high 27 points for Centreville. He scored 12 of those 27 in the 2nd quarter. He hit 10 shots from inside the arc and converted all seven of his attempts from the charity stripe.
Wildcats' senior, Warren Denny, contributed with 20 points and 10 rebounds while picking up his 6th straight double-double. Senior Holland Anderson added six points and pulled down an equal six rebounds. Senior Chris Campbell added five points for the Wildcats. Senior Nick Tisinger had four points, five steals, three rebounds, and three assists.
With their 3rd straight victory, Centreville improves to 13-2 on the season and 4-1 in the district, and will now take on the Langley Saxons, on the road, Wednesday night before returning to Concorde District play at Westfield on Thursday night. Robinson (2-15, 0-5) will travel to Chantilly High School on Thursday to take on the Chargers. All game times are scheduled for 7:30 tip-offs.
