Reservoir Earns Title Grapple at The Brook Tournament

SILVER SPRING, MD- Montgomery County wrestling was well represented in the 12th Annual Grapple @ The Brook Wrestling Tournament at Springbrook High School. The tournament was comprised by teams from five different counties within the State of Maryland as well as one team from Delaware.
Howard County powerhouse Reservoir ran away with the title scoring 248 point followed by Cape Henlopen with 190 point all the way from Delaware.
Sherwood was the highest placing Montgomery County team placing third with 164 points and Clarksburg and Springbrook rounded out the top five teams.
Montgomery County had 14 finalists and crowned seven individual champions. The finals included an astonishing 10 falls in the 14 contested weight classes.
Clarksburg led the way with three individual champs Mac Raum 103 lbs, Roja Stephenson 130 lbs, and Chris Williamson 135 lbs.
Other county champs included Joe Galeano 140 lbs, Springbrook, Josh Lowy 152 lbs, Sherwood, Mike Murphy 189 lbs, Watkins Mill, and Ian Banson 215 lbs, Paint Branch.
Joe Galeano from Springbrook recorded his 108th victory in the semi-finals which broke a school record for career victories.
