BLACKSBURG, Va. -- As the field temperature neared 32 degrees Fahrenheit in the fourth quarter, ice water ran through sophomore Connor Jessop's veins. On fourth-and-11, the Broad Run quarterback threaded a pass to David Weaver, who would secure the first down and then surge for pay dirt -- proving the difference-maker in a 21-16 Group AA Division 4 state title win.
