Ramone Snowden nailed his last nine free throws; four in overtime and helped lead the Kellam Knights into the victory column with a 64-61 win over host, the Princess Anne Cavaliers. Snowden finished the night with 16 points and junior guard Trey Freeman added 17 points of his own on Thursday night in Virginia Beach.

Princess Anne was led by senior center, Quintell Johnson who owned his side of the paint all night, pouring in 24 points and gathering 9 rebounds. Senior Captain, Greg Montgomery finished with a double-double, with 14 points, 10 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists. Princess Anne battled back and forth with Kellam all game, but in the end, the Knights connected on 22 more free throws in the game and came away with a well deserved win.

The Cavaliers tried to press the Knights for most of the second quarter, but the combination of Freeman, Snowden and junior, Christian Burton was just too much as they handled the press with great success and got their team into position to score. Burton also did his part on defense as well, gathering 3 steals on the night, 2 coming late in the game that really shifted momentum.

Coach Nieman's Analysis

Kellams backcourt was just to good throughout the whole game for the Cavaliers to handle. Freeman and Snowden seemed to have the calmness in them even when P.A. tied up the game late to make it head to overturn. The Knights will have to rely on them most of the year to compete with the Beach top team's this year.
