Hoop Magic Sports Academy: Tip-Off Tourny

CHANTILLY, VA - Hoop Magic Sports Academy presents The Virginia High School Season Tip Off featuring the DMV area's most talented rising stars. The event takes place Saturday December 12, 2009 at Hoop Magic Sports & Entertainment Center. Tip-off will begin at 12pm, and the event will also feature the new and unique sounds of one of DC's up and coming bands New Impressionz performing live between games.

Hoop Magic's Virginia High School Season Tip Off will feature some of the areas top prospects such as Curtis Symonds, Jr., who is yielding multiple mid-major offers on the college level. Symonds who possesses a lighting quick first step, elite athleticism with great size and speed, and a overall silky smooth flow to his game. Symonds who is a very calm, cool, and collective talent on the court looks to take charge this weekend and lead his Friendship Edison teammates to supremacy.

Also featured this weekend is fellow Frienship teammate Brandon Young who has committed to Depaul University. Young a 6'3 PG with a uncanny feel for the game possesses a unique combination of vision, size and quickness. Young dominates the game in a very efficient way, timely pin-point passing, and key steals always leave opponents 2 steps behind. The backcourt combination of Young and Symonds is going to be a tough match-up for any opponent this weekend in Tip Off tournament.

The Ballou Knights of Washington, D.C., features one of the players to watch in Donte Thomas who as a sophomore averaged more than 26 points per game with a single game season high of 40 points. The 6'3 guard can score in a variety of ways and looks to build on his previous average of 26 points per game.
