CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - In a Division 6 state title that featured two improbable runs, the Thomas Dale Knights, who were the 4th out of four seeds in the Central Region playoffs, faced the Lake Braddock Bruins, who were in their first ever state title game. The Bruins gave a valiant effort, but the running attack of the Knights, led by Demetrick Jackson, were able to expose the Bruins' defense all night long, and that helped them to a 35-21 victory.

The Knights started off with the ball on their own 28-yard line to start the game. A 41-yard pass from quarterback Demitrius Campbell to Brandon Burton put the Knights on the Bruins' 31-yard line. Jackson then began establishing his rushing attack, moving the ball closer to the goal line. Jackson eventually got the ball inside the 10-yard line, setting up a goal to go situation. After a 6-yard pass to the 2-yard line from Campbell to Airek Green, fullback Mike Edmunds punched it in from two yards out of the score. Anthony Prevost's kick was wide, leaving the score at 6-0 in their favor.
