McLEAN, VA - Senior infielder Chris Russo has verbally committed to attend VMI to play baseball. According to Coach John Thomas, Russo was recruited as a middle infielder. Chris is an outstanding player and has had a great career at McLean so far. He was a 1st Team All-District 2B last year for the Highlanders and was HM All-District in 2008.
"He's probably the smartest and toughest player that I've been fortunate enough to coach in my 5 years at MHS," said Thomas.
"We couldn't be happier for Chris to have earned the opportunity to play at a program like VMI. He's a very talented kid, but he also epitomizes hard work and dedication and he's headed to play Division 1 baseball in large part due to those attributes. I have no doubt that he will be an extremely valuable asset to VMI's program."
