Battlefield Beats Loudoun Valley To Hit 10-0

Coach Danny McGrath and the Loudoun Valley Vikings came up short against the undefeated Battlefield Bobcats, but that does not diminish the fantastic turnaround under the second year head coach. PURCELLVILLE, VA - Battlefield junior RB Nagee Jackson ran for 145 yards and 3 touchdowns, and senior WR Blaine Mason added two touchdown catches as the Bobcats finished a perfect regular season with a 35-17 win over Loudoun Valley. The loss likely knocked the 6-4 Vikings out of the playoffs as they could not put the icing on their remarkable turnaround season in 2009.

Bad bounces and luck plagued the Vikings in the first half, allowing the Bobcats to build a 21-3 lead. After stopping the Bobcats on a 3-and-out on the first possession, Viking senior RB Ricky Simmons fumbled the ensuing punt, which was recovered by the Bobcats and led to Jackson's first TD run.
