All Northern Region Football Team Named
Lake Braddock's Michael Nebrich and Robinson's Brian Laiti were named as Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively, and rightly so. Nebrich is the top rated quarterback in the region, while Laiti led all defenders in tackles.
Lake Braddock's Khamrone Kolb anchored an offensive line that provided QB Michael Nebrich with plenty of time to pick apart opposing defenses all season, and was named to the 1st Team Offense on the All Northern Region team. His Bruins are the 2009 Division 6 Northern Region champions.

Oakton's Scott Stangeby captained the Cougar defense in 2009, and is why, despite their 5-5 regular season record, his team made the playoffs this season. Stangeby garnered 1st Team Defense honors for his efforts.

FAIRFAX, VA - The Northern Region tournament has concluded, and two champions - the Lake Braddock Bruins and Stone Bridge Bulldogs - have been crowned, and are now into the State Semifinal round of the post-season. As we congratulate these two dynamic football programs, and wish them good luck on their quest for a state title, it's now time to turn to the individuals who stood out for their respective football programs, for every Northern Region team, and highlight a specific accomplishment - the All Northern Region Football Team.
Officials across the Northern Region recently, and painstakingly, assembled their list of "The Best Of The Best" players across each of the Concorde, Liberty, Patriot, and National Districts, and below is their final tally. Lake Braddock junior QB Michael Nebrich and Robinson senior MLB Brian Laiti were named as Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, while Falls Church senior RB\LB\KR Marcus Hughes was given the nod as the Utility Player of the Year.
