Tonight's game against Clarksburg may mean more to the Paint Branch Panthers who have not received the respect they deserve this year.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD- Hope everyone dried off from last weekends constant rain. Although the fields were sloppy and the balls were slippery, the Greek doesn't think weather decided any games last week. Week 8 brings us another threat of rain, teams still vying for playoff position and in some cases their playoff lives.
The Greek had an off week of 12-6 and stands at 93-30 for the season.
GAMES OF THE WEEK:
Churchill (7-0) @ Sherwood (6-1)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
Churchill sits on top of the 4A west with its 7-0 record. They bring the exiting triple option offense to Sandy Spring. The Warriors will try to get back on track after suffering their first home loss since 2006. The Warriors will need to spice up their vanilla offense if they expect to make some noise in the playoffs.
(Sherwood 28-17)
Seneca Valley (5-2) @ Quince Orchard (7-0)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
Quince Orchard along with Churchill are the only undefeated teams left for the county. The Cougars host a very desperate Seneca Valley team. The Screamin' Eagles where jumped in the point standings for the playoffs by Damascus (who they beat). Seneca valley really needs this in order to keep its playoff hopes alive.
(Quince Orchard 35-28)
Clarksburg (6-1) @ Paint Branch (6-1)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
Huge game in Burtonsville tonight! Both teams control their own destiny for a playoff berth. This game may mean more to the Panthers who have not received the respect they deserve this year. Aside from a tough loss to Sherwood they have been dominant. The Coyotes also have only 1 loss, losing to Quince Orchard in overtime after blowing a huge lead.
(Clarksburg 21-7)
OTHER GAMES:
Springbrook (5-2) @ Whitman (6-1)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
If the playoffs started today Springbrook would be on the outside looking in. Fortunately for the Blue Devils they control their own destiny. Unfortunately their last 3 games are murderers row: @ Whitman (6-1), Sherwood (6-1) and @ Paint Branch (6-1).
(Whitman 21-12)
Blair (1-6) @ Walter Johnson (0-7)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
Walter Johnson seems to play up or down to their competition. They have given too many good teams a tough game to go winless.
(Walter Johnson 21-14)
Einstein (4-3) @ Blake (2-5)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
Einstein and Blake may not be in the playoff hunt, but Einstein need 2 out of 3 to have a winning record.
(Einstein 27-7)
Magruder (3-4) @ Gaithersburg (2-5)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
Magruder's chance for the playoffs was severely damaged after getting shutout by Springbrook last week. Gaithersburg is much better than their record. Their losses have come to Churchill, Clarksburg, Sherwood, Paint Branch, and Whitman. Those teams are a combined 31-3.
(Gaithersburg 20-13)
Northwest (2-5) @ Wootton (2-5)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
Two playoff teams from last year hoping to win out to get to .500.
(Wootton 28-7)
Northwood (1-6) @ Damascus (5-2)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
Damascus appears to be on a mission.
(Damascus 35-7)
Potomac @ Poolesville (1-6)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
This should be a winnable game for Poolesville.
(Poolesville 28-21)
Richard Montgomery (0-7) @ Wheaton (2-5)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
Richard Montgomery has too much talent to go winless.
(Richard Montgomery 14-7)
Rockville (6-1) @ Kennedy (2-5)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
Rockville will get back to its winning ways.
(Rockville 30-12)
Watkins Mill (1-6) @ B-CC (2-5)
Friday @ 6:30 pm
One of these teams will have a winning streak after this weekend.
(B-CC 28-21)
McDonogh @ Georgetown Prep (4-2)
Friday @ 4:00pm
McDonogh should be too much for the Little Hoyas.
(McDonogh 28-7)
Avalon (1-7) @ Richmond
Friday @ 7:00pm
Should be a long bus ride home for Avalon.
(Richmond 31-12)
St Albans @ Bullis (2-4)
Friday @ 7:00 pm
Bullis needs to step up big.
(St Albans 35-7)
St Johns (4-3) @ Good Counsel (6-1)
Friday @ 7:00 pm
The Falcons will soar.
(Good Counsel 35-21)
Landon (5-1) @ St Stephen's/St Agnes
Saturday @ 1:00 pm
The rain will not be able to stop big brown.
(Landon 35-7)
