WEEK TWO POWER POLL
Top 10 Power Poll
1. Oscar Smith- (1-0) Starting the season off with a win against a very good Venice team from Florida was huge. Oscar Smith is still at the top spot, even though they didn't play last week. Next Game at Indian River.
2. Phoebus - (1-0) The Phantoms lost their coach Bill Dee to CNU this offseason, although you wouldn't be able to tell after the spanking they gave to Gloucester last Thursday. Phoebus could very well be the top team in the polls soon.
3. Ocean Lakes- (2-0) With wins over Princess Anne and Salem to start the season the Dolphins have been very impressive. They will have to show what their made of though win they face a team to their caliber.
4. Maury- (2-0) A dominant performance in week 1 and a big win last Friday against a good Petersburg team, the surprising Commodores are sitting nice at the No. 4 spot.
5. Lake Taylor-(1-1) After suffering a toss loss to a very good Battlefield team without some of their key players, the Titans bounced back destroying Indian River last Friday. They'll have a big game as they will face a much improved Kecoughtan team at home on Friday night.
6. Woodside- (1-0) A lot of people didn't give Woodside a chance last Saturday afternoon as they took on the mighty Hampton Crabbers(except yours truly, who picked the Wolverines), but coach Dodson's team did it again as they defeated Mike Smiths team 29-22.
7. Bayside- (1-0) Bayside gained a lot of confidence knocking off heavily favorite Green Run in week 1, the Marlins will try to stop a Cox team who has surprised some teams themselves so far this year.
8. Cox- (2-0) Going to the playoffs last year for the first time in school history has really rubbed off on this year's Falcon team. First knocking off Kellam and then beating a very good Green Run team, the Falcons will try to continue their hot streak as they take on No. 7 Bayside this Friday.
9. Grassfield-(1-0) Coach Asprey's team dominated a Nansemond River team Friday night. This Friday they travel to Portsmouth to take on a Western Branch team, this has the makings of a classic battle.
10. Kecoughtan-(1-0) The Warriors proved to a lot of people that they're for real after knocking off Bethel 16-14 last Friday. Anthony Dorsey will try to keep the momentum going as they travel to No. 5 Lake Taylor later this week.
