STERLING, VA -- Horrible, awful, bad and crazy are just a few choice words to describe the situation at Park View when they started camp last year.
Losing top assistant Mick Mullins originally to Loudoun Valley and then offensive line coach Danny McGrath to Loudoun Valley as well, that put Park View a bit shorthanded. With the few assistant coaches Park View had left, they were all still honoring their full-time jobs during the day. With no coaches around, head coach Andy Hill was forced to cancel the two-a-day practices that were slated to start in the morning. Instead, coach Hill would run just one long practice that would start in the late afternoon.
As Hill put it, those practices were disastrous. The players slept in all day, got a bit lazy and weren't focused. From there, everything snowballed into a 3-7 record for Park View.
