Head Coach: Glenn Tidwell (4th season)
2008 Record: 5-5
In 2008 the Warriors did not play to their potential. Winning only half their games last year, Coach Tidwell and his Warriors look to make a loud statement in the 2009 season. With a talented senior quarterback leading the way, can this year's team bring a District Title home to Kecoughtan...

Offense - Flex-Bone
Quarterbacks - Senior Anthony Dorsey, having the most experience at quarterback among all of Kecoughtan's athletes; entering his 3rd year starting as QB. Dorsey (5'9" 180lbs) will be a huge playmaker for the Warriors, a very talented young man, with tremendous speed and power. Make sure to keep an eye on Mr. Dorsey, he could make some noise for Player-of-the-Year in the Peninsula District. His back-up is a junior Bruce Bailey (5'10" 160lbs) who showed upside at the 7-on-7 held at ODU.
Running backs- Coach Tidwell will be running the flex bone this year. He will have two very fast and shifty wingbacks in; Junior Aaron Matthews (5'11" 155lbs) who has great break away speed and power, along side of him will be sophomore Adrian Pope (5'7" 150lbs) who also can make guys miss and turn it up field. In the middle of the flex bone holding down the full back position will be senior Melkim Reaves (6'0" 190lbs) a north to south runner and he will put a shoulder down and run a defense over.
Wide Receivers- This also is a position for which Kecoughtan has a number of proficient athletes who could excel. According to coach Tidwell, the Warriors have several wide outs that could be used; he will be giving a lot of players an opportunity to show what they are made of at wide receiver. Two seniors; Jace Deprist (5'10" 170lbs) terrific hands and route running, and Jatonzeo Sye (5'9" 160lbs) also great hands with break away speed they are likely to be the leaders of the passing game, although quite a few players will make a name for themselves at receiver.
Tight End- Not really used much; a wing back will step up and make the down field block.
Offensive line- The Warriors return only two seniors to this group and one is center Travon Webster. Next to him at the guards will be sophomore Chris Ray and 11th grader Shawn Fauntleroy (5'9" 240lbs). At the tackle position is the big junior Dylan Reynolds (6'4" 285lbs), whose measurements are those of a starting college tackle. Rounding out the rest of the O-line is senior Ben Garrett.
DEFENSE - Warriors run a 50 defense and a 3-4
Defensive line- At Nose guard will be Shawn Fauntleroy. Juniors Justin Washington and Xavier Eley will be the tackles. Fauntleroy will be playing both ways, so the other two will need to step up.
Linebackers- The Linebackers should be the strength of this Warrior defense. Starting at the strong side outside linebacker is junior Troy Williams (6'0" 200lbs). At the mike LB will be Hakeem Garner who will be a senior this season. Junior Harvey Williams will be playing some middle linebacker and some outside linebacker. At the rover position is 175lb junior Brandon Bacchus.
Secondary- There will be a lot of speed in the secondary, starting with the cornerbacks Aaron Matthews and Jace Deprist. Matthews will be a junior and Deprist will be an upcoming senior. At strong safety will be Deshawn Jackson and FS Anthony Dorsey will be the leader in the back for the Warriors.
Special Teams- For field goals and extra points the Warriors will turn to junior Kyle Lawrence. The punting duties will be left for senior Jeff Emerson to handle. Anthony Dorsey and Aaron Matthews will be the main return men for Kecoughtan.
