LANGLEY, VA -- Fresh off of a thrilling 13-12 overtime victory over Stone Bridge, the Thomas Jefferson Colonials had seemingly come into their semi-final game with plenty of confidence and momentum.

And that certainly seemed to be the case in the opening minute as TJ's Liam Carter-Condon put his team up 1-0 in the opening minute of play. Yet from then on out, it was Langley who would dominate play as they walked out with a 15-5 win, a game that was played in extremely wet and sloppy playing conditions.

The win for Langley allows them to advance to the Liberty District championship, where they will await to play the Woodson/Madison semi-final winner, which will be played Wednesday at 5 PM.

After Carter-Condon's tally had put Langley down a goal, the Saxons responded by scoring four straight goals, as they raced out to a 4-1 lead and would never look back from there. Although TJ's Ryan Vaughn managed to get on the board for the Colonials, the Saxons would rattle off four more goals from there to close out the half with a comfortable 8-2 lead.

Behind the six goal advantage was the performance of Alex Devlin, who rattled off multiple goals in the first two quarters of play, as did the attack unit of Ethan Bailey, Ryan Ninguard and Kyle Maida. In addition to the offensive output produced by the Langley offense, their defense had seemingly shutdown much of the TJ big offensive weapons.

When play resumed in the third quarter, it was more of the same for Langley. The combination of goalie Galen Kuney and defenders Thomas Robinson, Brandon Dwyer and Trevor Shafran had refused to surrender anymore goals to the Colonials while the Saxon offense was continuing its onslaught. Enough so, that Langley would emerge out of the third quarter with a double-digit lead.

The Colonials, however, would proceed to close out the fourth quarter in strong fashion. Notching three goals in the final frame, they would make the final score stand at 15-5.
