FAIRFAX, VA - Senior Johnny Bladel pitched a complete game striking out 10 as Stone Bridge beat Woodson 4-3. The win puts Stone Bridge in the District Championship game against McLean who beat Marshall 6-2.

Stone Bridge jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on sophomore Spenser Rositano's lead off home run. Rositano turned on a 0-2 pitch and hit it over the right field fence for the first home run of his career.

Woodson took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third without hitting a ball out of the infield. Junior Colin Dempsey led off with a walk. Junior Ryan Lluy reached on an error. Senior Kirk Lewis hit into a fielder's choice scoring Dempsey. Sophomore John McGillicuddy got an infield single to load the bases and then Lewis scored on an error.

Stone Bridge came right back in the bottom of the third to score three and took the lead back 4-2. Senior Michael Prince led off the inning with a walk, senior Johnny Bladel singled and junior Taylor Lambke walked to load the bases. Junior Michael Mattingly walked scoring Prince and then senior Patrick Thompson laced a single scoring Bladel and Ty Lighton who was pinch running for Lambke.

Woodson picked up an unearned run in the sixth to complete the scoring. Junior Connor Finnerty led off with a single, went to second on an error to third on a balk and scored on an error.

The win raised Stone Bridge's record to 17-4 and puts them back in the District Championship game. Woodson earned a birth in the Regionals and will face the 2nd place team in the Concorde District.
