Lady Highlanders Continue Their Winning Ways

McLEAN, VA - The McLean Lady Highlanders continue their winning streak by beating Thomas Jefferson last Friday 4-3. Although Jefferson gave McLean a battle they were able to win the game in the 8th inning.

The Highlanders faced South Lakes this past Monday for a make-up game and won 15 to 4. McLean had 18 hits, and junior centerfielder Lauren Sutherland scored twice and had 2 hits. Megan Sullivan came alive going 3 for 5 with a sacrifice fly to get an RBI.

The Highlanders faced South Lakes again on Tuesday night winning 18-3. Junior short stop Lauren McColgan went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, 4 stolen bases and 3 RBI's. Carolyn Gilbertson went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's.

The Highlanders have now improved their record to 10-1 in the Liberty District and 14-3 overall. They are tied in the district with rival Madison. They face the Marshall Statesman on Friday at Marshall at 6:30 pm.
