ASHBURN, VA - When Nick Sheehan decided to transfer to Stone Bridge last summer, he was hoping he could experience the playoffs, and of course have a chance to play at the next level.

The first goal became reality back in November, and the second is about to as well. The 6'2 receiver and safety received an offer from Virginia Tech to be a recruited walk-on over the weekend.

While it isn't a scholarship offer, it is an attractive option for a player who has the size and the potential to play his best football in the years to come. Virginia Tech doesn't offer many players a chance to come join the team as a walk-on, and the opportunity could be a good one for Sheehan.

Head Coach Mickey Thompson believes Sheehan will receive more offers in the coming weeks.

"Nick's a college football player," Thompson said. "I think this offer from Virginia Tech proves that many believe his best football is yet to be played, and I agree with that. I don't think this is the last opportunity he will have before signing day."

If Sheehan decides to go to Virginia Tech, he will join Jeron Gouveia, Ed Wang, and David Wang as Stone Bridge players on the roster.
