Lady Raiders Drop One To Turner Ashby
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA-The Lady Raiders of Loudoun County lost to AA perennial state power
Turner Ashby by a score of 69-57. Loudoun County held the lead for the
entire first half and was up 35-27 at the mid-way point. However,
aggressive defense and the combination of 6' 1" JMU bound Nikki Newman,
19 points, and 6' junior Kirby Burkholder, 25 points, was to much for
the Lady Raiders in the second half.
Brittany Batts connected on 3 threes and scored a team high 19 points.
She also had 4 rebounds. Alissa Kain turned in another solid all around
game with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assist. Kendra Holmes was the
third Lady Raider in double figures with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 4
block shots.
Loudoun County will be back in action Friday night, 6:00, at Fauquier
High School against the Fauquier Falcons.
