Area Athletes Sign College Scholarships

Several of our high school student-athletes in the NRV and Roanoke Valley recently signed college scholarships to various colleges.
At Christiansburg High School, girls' basketball standout Dani Motley signed to play for Wofford and star swimmer Seth Wensel inked a scholarship to swim at the University of Tennessee.
In Blacksburg, three standout student-athletes at Blacksburg High School have signed to extend their playing career at various colleges. Courtney Ellenbogen signed to play golf at Duke, Brian Langley has committed to play golf for Virginia Commonwealth University and Evan Gregg has signed to continue his swimming career at the University of Michigan.
At Hidden Valley High School, Lauren Hines signed to swim at the University of Richmond. While, Meredith Swanson officially signed her letter of intent to continue playing golf at the University of South Carolina, Ben Boggs has signed to play men's basketball at Virginia Tech and Abby Redick has signed to play women's basketball at Virginia Tech.
Across town at Patrick Henry High School, senior Natalie Woodford has made an oral commitment to Virginia Tech for track and field and cross country.
At Lord Botetourt High School, senior MacKenzie Tyree will be taking to the volleyball court at Carson-Newman.
Tamara Smith of Northside High School signed her name on the dotted line to play softball at Concord University
