All-Region II Team Selections

Spartan linebacker Kenny McAdow took away All-Region II Defensive Player of the Year honors this week. McAdow will lead his Spartans into state semi-final action this week, which is the first time the Spartans have seen state action in their long history.

James Wood kicker Andrew Lloyd was aptly named "The Weapon" this season for his ability to nail long range field goals, and coffin-corner punts. Lloyd was named to the first-team as a place kicker and punter.

Now that the Regional titles have been handed out, and the season is now into the State semifinals, accolades are starting to come out. The All Region II tributes have been named recently, and several local athletes were honored for their play, along with one coach.
The Broad Run Spartans garnered the most prestigious honors, making it a clean sweep for top awards. Breon "Big Money" Earl, was named Offensive Player Of The Year while teammate, LB Kenny McAdow, was named Defensive Player Of The Year. Rounding out the top spot was haed coach Michael Burnett, taking the Coach Of The Year award. The sweep is a testimony as to how far this program has come, under the short tutelage of Burnett.
In all, 10 Spartans were named to the 1st and\or 2nd Teams. Potomac Falls, James Wood, and Briar Woods each placed 4 players. Here is the complete list of All Region II honors. Congratulations to all of these spectactular athletes...
