Woodbridge got a big win last week against Hylton, they look to stay perfect this week as they will face off against Freedom.

Aaron Jackson helped get Gar-Field back to a .500 record with a touchdown pass against Freedom.

Osbourn's Thomas Keith is having an exceptional season for the Eagles. Osbourn is still in the playoff hunt going into competition this week.

BRISTOW, VA - As we enter the tenth week of the regular season only two teams in the county seem to have a firm grip on a playoff spot; the Woodbridge Vikings and the Battlefield Bobcats. Both faced their true final tests of the regular season in week 9 as the Vikings dominated Hylton and the Bobcats got by Fauquier. Both teams should finish the regular season 10-0 as they both face opponents in the last two weeks that they should be able to beat soundly.
Woodbridge has been the more dominant of the two teams as they have scored more than 31 points in seven of their eight games season. Their defense has been stout as well, allowing only allowing 8.25 points per game. Battlefield on the other hand has shown the ability to win close games, one of the key characteristics of a championship caliber team. All signs point to these two teams meeting up for the second consecutive year in the playoffs. I just hope Andy Hayes gives me the opportunity to call the game again this season.
There are a handful of teams in the county that still have a great shot at making the playoffs this year. With that said, here is a look at the power point standings in Division 6, and Division 5 after week 9.
AAA DIVISION 6 NORTHWEST REGION POWER POINTS
1. Battlefield - 33 (Leading Cedar Run)
2. Woodbridge - 30.8 (Leading Cardinal)
3. Hylton - 25.4
4. Osbourn - 24.8
5. Gar-Field - 24
6. Osbourn Park - 23.4
AAA DIVISION 5 NORTHWEST REGION POWER POINTS
1. Brooke Point - 27.8
2. William Fleming - 26.4 (Leading Western Valley)
3. Potomac - 25.8
4. Colonial Forge - 24.8 (Leading Commonwealth)
5. Fauquier, Liberty, GW-Danville - 24.5
Now, let's take a look at the week that was in Prince William County!
BOBCATS REMAIN PERFECT
Battlefield improved to 8-0 on the season by defeating the Fauquier Falcons 36-31. The Bobcats were led by yet another impressive performance from RB Gerald Khosa. The senior ran for 213 yards and a score and gives coach Mark Cox as good a 1-2 punch you'll find in the state with Adrian Ingram and Khosa. Ingram ran for 67 yards and also scored a touchdown in the victory.
Bobcat QB Bo Revell threw two touchdowns in the game and senior LB Corey Turner had a game clinching interception late in the fourth quarter to give Battlefield their 16th consecutive regular season win.
6,547 AND COUNTING
De'Antwan "Rocket" Williams is now just 609 yards shy of the AAA state record for rushing yards in a career. Williams is now in 9th place overall for all runners at all levels. O.J. Thomason is the all-time leader at 7,536, so Rocket potentially has 6 games left to get 990 yards and the all-time record in state history.
Back to the game dubbed the "PWC Notebook Game to Watch." It did not live up to the hype unfortunately as the Vikings beat Hylton 35-6 to gain sole possession of first place in the Cardinal District. I assumed that Hylton would be able to move the ball on the Vikings but it did not happen.
Williams had another monster game by rushing for 281 yards and three touchdowns. If you read this notebook each week you've heard me say that you need to go watch this young man play. I'm telling you he is the kind of athlete that you only see once a decade.
If you want to catch him before the playoffs start, the Vikings play Freedom at home on Friday night, then travel to Gar-Field next week to wrap up the regular season.
UPSET SPECIAL
A few people (that will remain unnamed) laughed at me when I picked Stonewall over Osbourn Park, well guess who is laughing now. Stonewall beat OP 28-20 in Manassas on Friday night to pick up their second win of the season.
Senior Damien Thigpen ran for all four Raider touchdowns and finished the night with 110 yards on 31 carries. In fairness to Osbourn Park's defense 63 of those yards came on one of his touchdowns so take that away and they held him to just 47 yards on 30 carries. No matter how you slice it, the Raiders won and most likely ended any playoff hope the Yellow Jackets had left.
Dominique Terrell did not play in the game as he suffered a concussion against Liberty in week 8. Coach Brian Beaty has discovered yet another stud sophomore in the form of RB Chris Mason. Mason carried the ball 23 times for 96 yards and a score. Add in speedy sophomore split end Gary Jackson and you have a trio that should carry this team to unprecedented heights over the next two seasons. The future is bright in Manassas.
REHA'S GAME WINNER
Gar-Field got back to .500 on the year by defeating Freedom 10-7. David Reha drilled a 21-yard field goal with 1:11 to go to give the Indians their fourth win of the year and their second win against the Eagles this season.
Freedom's RB Deon Jones gained 209 yards on the night and was named homecoming king. Jones has had a tremendous senior season. I'm hoping that he can find his way on to the All-Cardinal District team.
Gar-Field's John Portee fresh off of his game winning touchdown last week scored the Indians only touchdown, a 3-yard pass from Aaron Jackson. Gar-Field still has a chance of making the playoffs but they're going to have to beat Woodbridge next week to do it.

PWC NOTEBOOK GAME TO WATCH
Potomac (5-3, 1-2) vs. Hylton (5-3, 2-1)
I originally had the OP/Fauquier game here in an effort to not have the same team in this section of the notebook in consecutive weeks. After looking at the match-ups again I felt this game had to be the one to watch. This winner of this match-up will most likely be a lock for a playoff spot while the loser will most likely be left on the outside looking in. The same can't necessarily be said for my original pick.
Potomac has lost two of their last three games after starting the season 4-1. Losing to Gar-Field really hurt this team as they looked destined to make it back to the playoffs after the first five weeks. Coach Tony Lilly has done a tremendous job with this extremely young team and is building a solid foundation for another run at a state title.
Hylton on the other hand is hands down the most improved team in the county this season. Coach Lou Sorrentino picked up his 60th career win at Hylton earlier this year and has won two state titles at the AAA level, one at Hylton and another at Culpeper.
Of the nine meeting between these two schools since 2000, Hylton holds a one game advantage at 5-4. Potomac has won the last two games, a streak which I believe will be snapped on Friday night.
