BURKE, VA - In an intense Concorde District rivalry game between the Chantilly Chargers and the Robinson Rams, which received national attention from the "Great American Rivalry Series," the Chargers came out on top 36-20.

The contest was filled with plenty of ups and downs, as well as plenty of excitement as the two teams traded scores throughout the night. In the end, however, it was Chantilly's Torrian Pace who put his Chargers over the top to gain their fifth win on the year to move to 5-2.

The fireworks got started with just under a minute gone by in the first quarter when the Chantilly defense recorded a safety against the Robinson offense.

Despite the setback, the Rams would abruptly respond with a Xavier Duncan touchdown, but missed the extra point to grab a 6-2 lead. Pace would put the Chargers back on top with two straight touchdowns to put his team up with a fairly comfortable 16-2 lead.

But before the half was over, Robinson would score once again to make the score 16-13 and move within striking distance of their Concorde District foe.

When play resumed in the second half, Pace reached paydirt once again, but the extra point was blocked, which ultimately kept the Rams within shouting distance, down just 22-13.

The homestanding Rams would later capitalize on the blocked PAT attempt as quarterback Timmy Meier struck Wynton Fox for a 50-yard touchdown on their next possession and just like that, the score was 22-20 with Chantilly clinging on to a slim two point lead.

Yet Pace would have no part in a Chantilly loss. He would score his fourth, and perhaps most important, touchdown on the night which came from 54 yards out as he put his team up by the score 29-20 and once again make it a two possession ballgame.

As the fourth quarter came around, and the Chargers holding on to a 29-20 lead, they would successfully put the game out of reach thanks to a Mike Fries interception, which resulted in a Kevin McGrath touchdown. The score would put Chantilly up 36-20 and would stand as the final score of the game for either team.

Robinson's Alex Murray had 22 carries for 135 yards and no touchdowns, an MVP performance for the Rams.
The Chargers took the trophy for "The Great American Rivalry Series" as Pace ended with 32 carries for 332 yards and four touchdowns on the night and was named the Velocity Sports Performance Player of the Game for Chantilly.
