SOUTH RIDING, VA - Both the Park View Patriots and Freedom Eagles entered Friday night's contest needing wins. The schools entered the contest with identical 1-3 records, for Freedom it would end a 3 game losing streak, and for the Patriots it would keep them from losing 2 games out of 3.

The game started slowly for both squads, as they traded possessions for most of the opening quarter of action. Neither team was able to gain control and it was Brandon Lee and Brian Orr making the biggest plays, from their punting positions. A bad snap that went over the Freedom's punter setup the first scoring drive of the game. Park View started on the Freedom 30 yard line and scored 5 plays later when Brandon Lee found Tommy Sedeski from 8 yards out to put the Patriots on top 7-0 after 1 quarter of play.

It was on the very next punt by the Freedom Eagles that the Patriots special teams made another big play. Brandon Absher broke through the line and took the punt in the stomach and fell to the ground on the Eagles' 36 yard line. It only took Brandon Lee and the offense 3 plays to find pay dirt again, when Lee rolled right and broke contain, running 37 yards for the second score of the game with 10:43 to play. Lee would end the next Park View possession scoring his 2nd rushing touchdown from 1 yard away with only 3:53 to play in the half to give the Patriots a 20-0 lead. Freedom would not allow themselves to go scoreless in the first half, as Luke Braatan would find Dakota Porter as time expired to make the score 20-7 in favor of the Patriots.

Freedom could not build on their momentum after the halftime break. It would turn out to be the Brandon Lee show in the second half of the game on this night. On the Patriots first possession of the half Lee would find Josh Jones behind the defense for a 51 yard touchdown pass to increase the Park View lead. The Patriots defense came up with another big play on the next possession for the Eagles. Nathan Santana would get into position and pick off Braatan and give the Patriots the ball in good field position. Even though Park View was unable to convert the interception into points, they would add more to the board on their following possession when Lee again found a wide open receiver, this time it was Tommy Sedeski from 40 yards away. Lee would cap his night on the very next possession for the Patriots, finding Josh Jones out of the backfield for a 49 yard touchdown pass. Lee would end the game with 193 yards through the air and 90 on the ground and he accounted for 6 Park View touchdowns. Despite knowing they were not going to get the victory, the Freedom Eagles refused to give up. Braatan would end his night with another touchdown pass, this time to Brian Orr. The game would end with the final score being 41-13 in favor of the Patriots, who grab their second win of the year, while Freedom falls to 1-4 on the year.

Next up for the Patriots is a game against Potomac Falls, who with a win Friday night improved to 5-0 on the season. The game can be heard on the Gameday Radio Network at www.GamedayMagazine.com.
