Crabbers, Phantoms, Tigers win

Right: Curtis Ingram (left) and Travis Dillard (right) helped Hampton hold off Kecoughtan (4-4, 4-3) for a 21-14 victory last Thursday, as the Crabbers (7-1, 6-1) rebounded from last week's drubbing by Phoebus to get back on the right side of the win column. In other action, the Phantoms continued their routing ways, dominating Menchville 63-0 to stay unbeaten (7-0) in Peninsula District action. Bethel slipped past Heritage 8-3.

Across the water, Ocean Lakes came out on top in a battle of unbeaten Beach District teams, shutting out Green Run 15-0. Oscar Smith continued its perfect season, stomping Nansemond River 40-6. River's Suffolk counterpart Lakeland fell 13-0 to Deep Creek, while King's Fork's held on to defeat Hickory 12-9. Grassfield scored an upset with its first-ever defeat of Indian River, while Western Branch whomped Great Bridge, 59-30.

Lake Taylor beat back Norcom 15-12, and Granby upset Norview 26-7. Cox defeated Princess Anne, 16-7.
