Bulldog Zach Thompson Injures Knee In Game

ASHBURN, VA - Stone Bridge senior defensive lineman/tight end Zach Thompson injured his right knee midway through the third quarter of the Bulldogs' 38-0 victory against Langley Friday night in Ashburn.

Thompson, who is verbally committed to Wake Forest, suffered the injury when he was hit after catching a pass from his twin brother Patrick across the middle of the field.

Zach Thompson was slow to get up after the play and was helped to the sideline by teammates, unable to put any weight on his right leg. He spent the rest of the game on a trainer's table with ice on his knee.

Stone Bridge coach Mickey Thompson said the extent of the injury would not be known until Saturday following x-rays.

"He has a lot of pain but not a lot of movement so you hope nothing is damaged," Mickey Thompson said.
