With just one week left in the regular season, Glenvar and Salem have already clinched at least a tie for the league championship in the Three Rivers and River Ridge Districts, respectively. Races are starting to heat up in the Blue Ridge, Pioneer and Western Valley Districts.

Northside Beats Lord Botetourt

The Lady Vikings needed four games to beat the Lady Cavaliers 21-25, 25-17, 25-20 and 31-29 in a Blue Ridge District volleyball match Thursday evening.

Samantha Barney led Northside (10-9, 4-1 BRD) with 20 kills, five aces and five blocks. Molly Deacon added 37 digs and Stephanie Carr recorded 43 assists.

MacKenzie Tyree paced Lord Boteourt with 32 digs and Macey Tyree added 16 kills and 25 digs.

Alleghany Tops Wm. Byrd

The Lady Mountaineers claimed a 14-25, 26-24, 25-19 and 25-21 win over the Lady Terriers Thursday night in Blue Ridge District volleyball action.

Erin Moody led Wm. Byrd (6-9, 1-4 BRD) with 16 digs and Candace Brady posted 34 assists and 13 digs.

Glenvar Spikes Auburn

The Lady Highlanders clinched at least a tie for the Three Rivers District regular season title, as they defeated the Lady Eagles 21-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-27 and 15-13 Thursday night.

Chelsie Kenley led Auburn (16-2, 6-2 TRD) with 31 kills, 20 digs and nine blocks, while Tabby Whitlock finished with 13 kills, 26 digs and six blocks.

Liz Trinchere led Glenvar (17-0, 8-0 TRD) with 26 kills, 17 digs and seven blocks and Jessica Owen had 49 assists and 19 digs.

Salem Bumps Blacksburg

The Lady Spartans clinched at least a tie for the River Ridge District regular season title, as they defeated the Lady Bruins 26-24, 25-20 and 25-23 Thursday night.

Katy Kipps led Blacksburg (10-8, 4-4 RRD) with 10 kills. Lauren Cusimano and Kaitlyn Ayares both posted 20 digs.

Kayla Paxton led Salem (17-1, 8-0 RRD) with 20 kills and 20 digs, while Kelsey Bradshaw had 10 kills and three aces.

Hidden Valley Knocks Off Christiansburg

The Lady Titans took care of business Thursday night as they defeated the Lady Blue Demons 25-8, 25-23 and 25-13 in River Ridge District action.

Eva Delaney led Hidden Valley (15-3, 5-3 RRD) with 24 assists and Samantha Klosterman added nine kills.

Cave Spring Rides Past Pulaski County

The Lady Knights continued to hold down the second spot in the River Ridge District as they defeated the Lady Cougars 25-6, 25-7 and 25-18 Thursday night.

Shannon Craighead led Cave Spring with 17 service points and seven aces. Lauren Bosche finished with 21 assists and five kills.

Franklin County Beats George Washington

The Lady Eagles defeated George Washington 25-11, 25-8 and 25-10 in a Western Valley District match Thursday night.

Kaitlyn Whitmer led Franklin County (11-7, 6-2) with 11 kills, six digs and four blocks,

Patrick Henry Topples Halifax County

The Lady Patriots improved to 7-1 in the Western Valley District, as the topped the Lady Comets 25-13, 25-16 and 25-12 Thursday night.

Jenny Young led Patrick Henry (12-6, 7-1 WVD) with 13 kills and two blocks, while Laura Jessee added nine kills and two blocks.

Bath County Defeats Craig County In Four

The Lady Chargers lost the first game 24-26, then came back to defeat the Lady Rockets 25-14, 26-24 and 25-19.

Sarah Lipps led Craig County (9-9, 3-5 Pioneer) with 11 kills and Christine Surface added 22 assists.

Bath County improved to 13-0 overall and 7-0 in the Pioneer District.
