Chantilly's Somers Concorde Pitcher of the Year
CHANTILLY, VA - Chantilly High School's senior left-hander Patrick Somers was named the Concorde District Pitcher of the Year last night by coaches following the District tournament won by the Chargers.
Somers, a three-year varsity starter, and the ace of one of the deepest pitching staffs in the Northern Region, has gone 6-3 on the season with 2.41 ERA in 49 1/3 innings pitched, giving up 35 hits and 17 walks while striking out 72. An East Carolina recruit, Somers pitched Chantilly into the Concorde championship game with a 9 inning, 3-hit, 11 strikeout performance against Westfield in the District semi-final.
