45 Straight: Lady Spartans Win 7-0 Over County
LEESBURG, VA - Broad Run defeated Loudoun County 7-0 for its 45th consecutive victory without a loss.
Caitlyn Delahaba pitched her 8th no hitter and her 14th shutout of the year. She struck out 13 and walked only two. Michelle Clohan and karla Powell combined on some nifty defensive plays to keep Raiders off the base.
The Spartan's scored four runs in the 4th as Delahaba singled, Reagan Doiron doubled, Anna Blessing hit a scorching line drive double for two runs, Jenn Soroka singled, Kaitlyn Tiplady singled in a run and the final run was scored on a double play. The game remained 4-0 until the 7th when Ashley Kramer tripled, and Karla Powell homered deep over the left field fence. Broad Run tacked on the final run when Alba Creus scored on an error after singles by Delahaba and Doiron.
The District Championship will be on the line when Broad Run travels to Park View on Tuesday.
