Wheaton Commits to Texas Lutheran Baseball
ASHBURN, VA - Stone Bridge Senior catcher Brian Wheaton has told Coach Burnett at Texas Lutheran University that he is going south to play baseball this Fall. Texas Lutheran plays in the American Southwest Conference and they represent the West Region of Division III baseball.
The Bulldogs finished 2005 and 2006 with rankings in the Top 15 of the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball Poll for NCAA Division III. In 2007, they were ranked as high as 4th and finished the season ranked 11th falling for the third time in the Region Championship game to Chapman University out of Southern California.
The Bulldogs joined the American Southwest Conference for the 2001 baseball season; and since that time, TLU has a .788 winning percentage in conference play with a record of 123-33.
Coach Burnett is excited that Brian has chosen TLU and even more excited that he is getting a player that can play MIF and Catcher.
