Lechler, Wolz, Adams Sign Letters Of Intent

ASHBURN, VA - Stone Bridge's Kayla Lechler has been a prominent name in local softball since she was a young child. She started her softball career at Stone Bridge as a freshman, and four years later, she has received a scholarship to attend Columbia University.
Lechler will play softball for Columbia next year after starring for the Bulldogs the past 4 seasons. During her time at Stone Bridge, she has helped the Bulldogs to a state championship appearance, and a state tournament berth last season. This year, Lechler and the Bulldogs are fighting through the difficult Liberty District with a 7-5 overall record. However, Stone Bridge is 6-2 in the district and the Bulldogs are right in contention for the district championship under first year head coach Mike Skinner.
Lechler received interest from several major college softball programs, but ultimately decided Columbia was the choice for her. She has family close by and will have the opportunity to compete for playing time as a freshman.
Lauren Wolz, the Bulldogs first baseman, signed a letter of intent on Monday with Case Western Reserve College. Wolz is one of the power hitters on this year's squad and has been a steady contributor to the Stone Bridge program over the past couple of seasons.
Teammate Amanda Adams also decided on a college softball program, choosing Mary Washington University. Adams has played well this season and along with Wolz and Lechler, is a senior leader on the Bulldog roster.
