Bartolotti Helps Titans Defeat Freedom, 7-1
STERLING, VA - Junior Anthony Bartolotti had a single, double, a home run, and 5 RBI's, in leading the Titans to a 7-1 win over the Freedom Eagles Wednesday night, in Dulles District action, at Dominion.
Bartolotti got things going for the Titans in the bottom of the first inning, after the Eagles had jumped out to a 1-0 lead, on an RBI double by Kyle Severns. Bartolotti drove one off the right field fence, bringing in the Titan's first run.
In his next at bat against Eagle starter Antony Perex, Bartolotti hit a home run to straight away right field, driving in 3 more runs. In his last at bat he lined a single up the middle to drive in the Titans 7th run, and his 5th RBI of the evening.
Junior pitcher Chris Taylor started and went 6 innings, giving up 3 hits and striking out 8. Freshman Ryan Doyle pitched the seventh inning, retiring 3 of the 4 hitters he faced. Taylor picked up his third win of the year.
The win raised the Titan's record to 8-4 overall, and 4-2 in the Dulles District. They travel to Briar Woods on Friday night to take on the Falcons in another important Dulles District contest.
