Stone Bridge's Parke Steps Down
Head Coach Brian Parke of the Stone Bridge Girls' Basketball program has confirmed his resignation from the head coaching job earlier on Tuesday. He will notify the team of his decision in a team meeting Tuesday afternoon.
"This was definitely a hard decision that took all of spring break to decide," said Parke. "However, it is time to move on and let somebody else take over."
In Parke's three years of coaching basketball at Stone Bridge, he was able to lead the Bulldogs to two winning seasons, along with two Northern Region tournament appearances.
The search for a new head coach will begin in two weeks. A list of possible candidates has not yet been made.
Assistant coach Pat Cassidy, who also head coaches Broad Run baseball, has also stepped down from the Bulldog program to pursue other opportunities.
