Lady Raiders Overwhelm Dominion, 86-49

LEESBURG, VA - The Lady Raiders of Loudoun County High School defeated the visiting Dominion Titans Monday night, by a score of 86-49, on a make-up of Friday night's cancellations across Loudoun County. The Raiders scored 52 combined points in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, as they rolled to their 14th straight win.
Rounding out the top producers for the home team; sophomore Kendra Holmes recorded her third straight Double-Double of the season, tallying a game high 18 points, and 11 rebounds, while adding 4 assists. Senior guard Samantha Akers shared game high scoring honors with Holmes, finishing with 18 points, as well. Freshman guard Brittany Batts continues to rise as one of the top performers in the Dulles District, contributing 13 points and 6 steals. Junior point guard Kerry Sarver, the leader of the Raiders offensive attack, added 8 points, and dished out 9 assists. Senior Amy Williams' unrelenting defense, and dominance on the boards, allowed her to gather 9 rebounds, and also adding 4 points. It was a great team effort as all 11 Lady Raiders scored in the contest.
The Titans were led by senior forward, Allison Reed, with 17 points, and senior guard Tiffany Jones, with 10 points, and 9 assists, oftentimes while acrobatically driving the lane and dishing off, but was hampered by being in foul trouble most of the night. Senior post player, and University of Tennessee bound Didi Fryer, contributed 8 points and 9 rebounds, on a hard fought effort down low all night.
