Sherando's Christine Commits to Norfolk State

Gameday Magazine would like to congratulate Joey Christine for his recent commitment to play football next fall for the Norfolk State University Spartans. The powerful offensive and defensive lineman becomes the second player for the Sherando Warriors to verbally commit to a 1-AA program; joining Brian Barlow, who will be playing for James Madison University. Christine was recently named to the Virginia High School Coaches Association All-State 1st team as an offensive and defensive lineman. Christine was also named to the All-Gameday team for the second consecutive season.
A two-way starter for Coach Bill Hall, Christine did it all for the Warriors in 2007. As an offensive guard he was able to pave the way for Markeith Brisco and protect quarterback Ross Metheny. Christine also shined defensively for Sherando, helping lead one of the best defenses in the state of Virginia.
There has been determination as to which side of the football Christine will line up on next fall for the Spartans. Christine is expected to make the commitment official on "National Signing Day", which will be on February 6th, 2008.
