Breaking News: Titan's Dougherty To Step Down
STERLING, VA - According to several sources close to the Dominion football program, Titan Head Coach Mike Dougherty will step down as head coach of the football program. The Titans struggled in 2007 and finished with a 2-8 record. Dominion has shown promise in recent years of a program on the rise under Dougherty's leadership and despite the final record this season, the Titans looked to be building toward the future with star running back Deandre Reaves. Reaves led all Dulles District rushers as a freshman this year and is sure to be a star in the coming years.
Injuries plagued the Titans this season at key positions and Dominion also lost a few very close games. However, according to Gameday's sources, Dougherty's decision to step aside was not directly tied to the disappointing finish the Titans had in 2007. Dougherty has been the only coach in the history of the Dominion football program.
