Spartans Roll Over Titans - Remain Undefeated

(Gameday Recap Provided by Dominion Football Insider)
STERLING, VA - The Broad Run Spartans (6-0) continued their undefeated journey through their schedule with a 34-17 win over the Dominion Titans (2-4) Friday night at Titan Stadium.
For the second week in a row, the Titans faced stingy defense backed by a balanced offense. The Spartans jumped out to a 27-3 halftime on the strength of Cole Shain's passing arm and the running of Breon Earl, a former Titan.
Shain was 7 for 8, 144 yards, and 3 touchdowns. Earl rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown. He also caught a 38 yard pass from Shain.
The Dulles District's leading rusher, Fr. Deandre Reaves, once again had trouble getting untracked against a swarming Spartan defense. Reaves rushed 21 times for 52 yards. The Spartan's defensive blitzes also put a lot of pressure on Titan Quarterback, Geoff McCowat.
The Titans showed a lot of heart late in the third quarter, and early in the fourth, with sustained drives that resulted in 2 touchdown passes from McCowat to Henry Lobo for 20 yards, and Reaves for 50, on an exciting catch and run play.
Victor Williams, potential All Gameday safety, and Aaron Good, who recorded 2 sacks, led the Titan defense which stiffened in the second half.
The Titans face yet another tough District foe when they travel to Leesburg to take on the Heritage Pride next Friday night. The Spartan juggernaut continues its drive towards a November 9 showdown with Park View by hosting the Loudoun County Raiders, on Spartan homecoming.
