Pride Blast Titans on Homecoming - 42-28

(Game recap provided by Titan Gameday Insiders)
LEESBURG, VA - The Heritage Pride rode the arm of Kyle Nelson to a 42-28 victory over the visiting Dominion Titans for the Pride's first ever Homecoming victory on Saturday afternoon.
The Titans opened up the scoring on a Deandre Reaves 41 yard TD run, and the 7-0 lead would last through the 1st quarter. However, the Pride got their offense together, scoring 28 points in the 2nd, including 3 touchdowns in the final 2:25 of the half, capitalizing on an interception, a fumbled kick-off, and a successful onside kick.
Nelson finished 12-19 for 243 yards and 4 touchdowns on the day, connecting with Darius Tibbs on 3 of the them, and Ross Madison for the other. Madison also added a TD run (in the 2nd quarter), and Simie Goe tacked on the other Pride TD, on a 29 yard run. Tibbs finished the day with 147 yards on 6 catches.
Reaves, the freshman stand-out and Dulles District leading rusher, scored all 4 Titan touchdowns. Reaves finished with 258 yards on 29 carries and eclipsed the 1000 yard mark with 3 games remaining.
The Pride improve to 5-2, 3-1 in the District. The Titans slip to 2-5, 1-3.
The Pride will now face a tough Dulles District match-up Friday night, as they host the Briar Woods Falcons, in their last homestand of the season. It doesn't get any easier for the Titans, either, as they will host District front-runner Park View, on Homecoming night. That game is tentatively scheduled to air live on the Gameday Radio Network, on Gamedaymagazine.com. The broadcast will begin at 6:45 pm.
