Knotted: Bulldogs, Vikings Locked at 2-2
In a clash of the two AAA teams in Loudoun County, the Vikings got off
to the better start. David Weinstein opened the scoring three minutes
into the game after running on to a pass from Brian Esoda. After going
one on one with the keeper, Weinstein slotted the ball to the back of
the net. The 1-0 lead would last until the 22nd mintue when Ryan
Sullivan found space at the top of the box and drilled home a
beautifully hit half volley.
Ronnie Shaban headed home a second goal
before half time to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead at the break. The
score stayed that way until Brian Esoda equalized for the Vikings with 9
minutes left to play. Luke Marzaloes provided a thrown in that Esoda
thumped home. The two teams played through overtime and ended with a 2-2
draw.
