Pride Take 3rd In States At Cross Country Meet
The Heritage girls cross country team won the school's first team trophy at a state championship in a girls sport, finishing 3rd at the state championship meet today at Great Meadow in the Plains, VA. The team finished 3 points in front of 4th place Handley High School and were only behind two nationally ranked teams--Blacksburg and Brentsville. This is the first ever time that a girls cross country team from the Dulles District (Loudoun County) has finished in the state's top 3.
The team was led by outstanding races by all seven runners--Hannah McLaughlin, Bini Kronenberg, Jayde James, Ashleigh Dyson, Amanda Ward, Lauren Stephens, and Ellyn Moulton. Making the state podium caps off an incredible season for the Heritage girls, led by the outstanding senior leadership from Jayde James and Bini Kronenberg.
