Warriors Set For Showdown with Harrisonburg

Harrisonburg at Sherando
Friday 7:00 pm
Arrowhead Stadium
Match up
The Harrisonburg Blue Streaks and the Sherando Warriors will meet on Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium to decide whose record will remain undefeated and move on to the Division 4 regional final. Both Harrisonburg and Sherando finished there regular season with perfect 10-0 records. The Blue Streaks from Harrisonburg represent the Valley District and have proven to be a dominant football program year in and year out. Sherando will represent the powerful Northwestern District and are starting to earn credibility throughout the state. Friday's game will be a rematch of last seasons regional final in which Sherando prevailed 41-34.
Keys to the Game
Harrisonburg
1. Apply pressure to quarterback Ross Metheny (If he gets time it's a completion)
2. Force Sherando into 3rd and long situations (More predictable play calling)
3. Have an individual rush for 100 yards (No RB has done this all season)
4. REVENGE =Remember last season's loss but do not let it overpower game plan
Sherando
1. Continue to stay balanced on offense (Passing/Rushing production is very close)
2. Keep moving the pile! (Sherando's Oline are huge and strong)
3. Win the battle of field position (offensive starting point will be a factor)
4. Load up on the run (Witt, Root and Crosen are very dependable DB's)
Players to Watch
Sherando= Ross Metheny has proven he can win football games with his throwing ability. If the Blue Streaks take away Sherando's running attack, then look for Metheny to showcase his mobility and passing accuracy. Metheny is the wild card that Sherando can unveil at any moment!
Harrisonburg - Sophomore Alex Owah comes from a family rich in football tradition. This could be the talented sophomore's breakout game on a statewide scene. Owah possess great speed!

Outlook
Each team has talented and high profile athletes. The Blue Streaks will look to QB Ben Sarver and RB Alex Owah. Sherando has big time players such as QB Ross Metheny, OL/DL Joey Christine and WR/DB Derek Crosen! All of these players are expected to be very productive for there team and I am sure that they will! The question is which player for the Blue Streaks or the Warriors will switch from being a role player to becoming a GAMEBREAKER!
Prediction
Harrisonburg is a battle tested team that got a huge wake up call last week and responded with a win. The Blue Streaks are very capable of winning this game. With that said my pick is the Sherando Warriors! Sherando is a very balanced team that has proven the ability to win a game by playing any style of football. Sherando can be very effective by running the football behind there outstanding line. QB Ross Metheny is the Wild Card! This young man welcomes pressure situations and responds when the Warriors coaching staff calls his number. Look for #15 to pass the Warriors on to the Regional Finals.
