Loudoun County's McManus Set To Retire

Sterling, VA - Pat McManus, who has guided the Loudoun County football team since 1991, announced earlier today that he would be stepping down following this season.
The Raiders, 0-9 overall and 0-4 in the Dulles District this fall, conclude their season at Heritage (3-6, 0-4) tonight. Under McManus, who worked as an assistant at the school from 1987-90 before taking over as head coach in 1991, Loudoun County has compiled a 91-83 (.523) over the last 16 seasons.
However, the Raiders' last winning season came in 2002, when they went 6-4, and the program has gone just 25-44 this decade, including 9-30 over the last four seasons, after making five Group AA Division 4 Region II playoff appearances under McManus in the 1990s.
McManus said he will continue working as a teacher at the Leesburg school.
