Eight Bulldogs Named 1st-Team All-District
Sterling, VA - Eight players from undefeated Stone Bridge were named first-team all-Liberty District football selections by the district's coaches.
Senior quarterback Terence Glenn, senior tailback Devon "Ylou" Brown and senior linemen Andrew Nuss and Sean Moran were selected from a Bulldogs offense that produced 43.1 points and 390.9 yards of total offense per game in the regular season.
Glenn enters Friday's Group AAA Division 5 Northern Region semifinal against Madison (7-3 overall) with 1,553 total yards from scrimmage and 19 touchdowns (11 rushing, 8 passing). Brown, meanwhile, has been one of the state's top backs this fall, rushing for 1,503 yards and 27 touchdowns on 153 carries in the regular season.
Defensively, senior linebackers Tim Wells and Robert Walther were selected, as was junior defensive back Jeron Gouveia. Walther leads the team with 73 tackles and has recorded two sacks, while Wells has 55 tackles and a sack and Gouveia has 58 tackles and two interceptions.
Junior kicker Ronnie Shaban, who has connected on 2-of-3 field goal attempts and 30-of-33 extra-point attempts, was also selected to the district's first team.
